Baseball Set to Face HSU in Road Series

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will look to continue its recent stretch as it returns to Great American Conference play with a three-game road series versus Henderson State on March 15-16 in Arkadelphia, Ark., opening the series with a 6 p.m. contest on March 15, followed by a noon doubleheader on March 16.
 
The Savage Storm come into the contest rising back-to-back wins which lifted the teams record to 8-14 overall and 1-11 in GAC play.
 
The SE offense is led by Damon Burroughs who is hitting .365 on the year with six doubles, two triples, and four home runs, all team highs, while also driving in 17 runs. He also lifted the Storm to its first conference win with a walk-off grand slam in the finale versus Oklahoma Baptist.
 
Nick Hill follows with a .348 average while leading the team with 19 RBI.
 
Yanluis Ortiz and Coby Grimsley matches Burroughs with four homers, while Hill, Reid Rice, Cam Wheeler, and Wesley Mitchell each have three home runs.
 
In all, eight players have double-digit RBI totals on the year.
 
The Storm pitching staff is led by Cameron Hauch who has a pair of wins while carrying a 5.79 ERA and posting a team-high 29 strikeouts.
 
Jackson Sioson carries a 5.68 ERA in five starts over eight appearances, while Brett Tanksley is 1-1 with a 5.25 ERA in two starts across five appearances.
 
HSU enters the weekend with a 12-12 record overall and a 7-5 mark in GAC play.
 
The Reddies are led by Cal Jones with a .340 average, while Nick Trembley has a team-best four homers with Kaden Argenbright posting a team-high 22.
 
Reese Weaks leads the pitching staff with a 3-0 record and a 2.30 ERA with 30 strikeouts across six starts, while Henry Coppens has collected two saves and posted a 2-2 record over 10 relief appearances.
