WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southeastern's women made nine finals appearances, with three competitors advancing in multiple events, while the men sent five to the finals at the Southwestern Oklahoma State rodeo in Weatherford, Okla.

Mollie Bassett,
Avery Moyer, and
Kayla Earnhardt each reached the finals in two events to lead the women on the weekend.

All three of those riders plus
Mataya Eklund would advance in the barrel racing, while Bassett would open the event with a run of 16.23 to finish fifth in the long-go. She would come back with a 16.64 in the finals to finish fourth in the round but bump up to second in the average.

Moyer was next in line and turned in the best first-round run of the group with a mark of 16.20 to split 3
rd/4
th before taking a 10 second penalty in the finals to fall out of the average.

Earnhardt posted a seventh-place finish in the long-go with a time of 16.36 and would add to that a 16.67 in the finals which was good for fifth in the round and sixth in the average.

Eklund rounded out the group, making the finals with a run of 16.43 in the long-go before clocking a 17.01 in the finals to finish ninth in the round and 11
th in the average.

Bassett moved up to ninth in the Central Plains region barrel racing standings, while Eklund sits 10
th and Moyer is in 13
th.

A trio would advance in the goat tying, led by
Hannah Giger who opened the weekend with a 7.9 to split 5
th/6
th and advance to the finals where she posted an 8.0 to finish third in the round and third in the average.

Earnhardt followed with an 8.4 in her opening run to make the finals by splitting 10
th/11
th/12
th and would match it with another 8.4 in the finals to finish fifth in the round and sixth in the average.

Jillian Pressley opened the event with an 8.3 to split 7
th/8
th/9
th and followed up with an 8.6 to finish seventh in the finals and seventh in the average.
Â
Earnhardt has climbed to sixth in the regional rankings in the goat tying, while Giger is on her heels in seventh and Presley ranks ninth.

In the breakaway roping,
Baylee Lester led the way and opened the weekend with a 2.9 in the long-go to split 5
th/6
th, and followed it up with a 2.9 in the finals which was good for third place in the round and the average.

Moyer joined her in the finals after posting a 2.7 in the first round to place third in the long-go, but would take a no time in the finals to drop out of the average competition.
Â
Lester's efforts helped lift her to fifth in the region in the breakaway roping, while Giger is currently ranked seventh.

On the men's side, KW Adair and Ry Clark led the way in the steer wrestling where Adair opened the weekend with a run of 6.0 to finish seventh, following it up with a 4.9 in the finals which won the round and lifted him to second it he average.

Clark made the finals with a 7.6 in the long-go to finish 12
th and was dinged with a 19.9 in the finals to drop out of the average.

Clark remains regionally ranked however, currently sitting eighth in the central plains region standings.

Bradon Tyrer turned in a 60 point ride in the bareback riding and split 5
th/6
th in the long-go before coming back with a 72 point effort in the final to finish third in the round and move to fourth in the average. His finish helped him to fifth place in the region in the bareback.

In the saddle bronc riding,
Caleb Meeks posted a 75 in his first ride to finish third place in the first round, but would take a no score in the finals to drop out of the average, but he remains in second place regionally in the saddle bronc riding.
Â
Jarvis Demrey finished fourth in the opening round of the tie down roping with a time of 9.1, but would see his finals calf slip his loop and would take a no time to drop out of the finals, but he continues to hold onto sixth place regionally.

The Savage Storm rodeo teams will be back on the road April 18-20 for the Fort Hays State Rodeo in Hays, Kan.
