MUSKOGEE, Okla. – In the first tournament of the year, the Southeastern Oklahoma State men's golf team finishes the NSU Golf Classic 11
th with a 54-hole score of 21-over 873. The Savage Storm wrapped up the third round, shooting 16-over 300.
No. 19 Henderson State remained in first place through day two to win the event with a score of 18-under 834. GAC foes Harding (2
nd) and Southern Arkansas (3
rd) filled out the top three with 54-hole scores of 17-under 835 and 1-under 851, respectively. Rounding out the top five, Central Missouri shot 10-over 862 in fourth place, and Fort Hays State finished fifth at 11-over 863.
Jesse Rouse remained steady on the last day with an even-par 71 in the third round to conclude the event 6-under 207 and placed 5
th individually, earning All-Tournament honors. The Kingston, Okla. native began the day 1-under on the front nine with a pair of birdies before shooting 1-over on the back nine. Rouse would add three more birdies in round three to finish with 14 birdies at the Par 71 course.
Trent Pollard carded a 5-over 76 on the last day at the Muskogee Country Club to finish the tournament tied for 49
th with a score of 7-over 220. The Corinth, Texas native tallied the second-most birdies for the event, with eight across the three rounds.
Nicholas Martin turned in a 2-over 73 on the final day to finish the three-day event tied for 64
th with a score of 11-over 224.
Tristun Burnham (T80
th) followed Martin with a 16-over 229 at the Par 71 course after shooting 6-over 77 in the third round.
Rounding out the lineup,
Jesse Tandoy finished his first collegiate tournament tied for 87
th, carding a 19-over 232. The Broken Arrow, Okla. native shot 5-over 76 across the third round, recording a pair of birdies on the back nine.
Southeastern is back action at the MSSU Fall Invitational on Sept. 23-24 at the Shangri-La Country Club in Monkey Island, Okla., hosted by Missouri Southern.
