HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – After 36 holes of play at the Hot Springs Country Club, the Southeastern Oklahoma State men's golf team is tenth at the Battle for the Belt with a score of 13-over 589 through two rounds.
The hosts, Henderson State, lead the 15-team field with a score of 13-under 563. GAC-foe Arkansas Tech sits in second place at 9-under 567, followed closely by St. Mary's and Southern Arkansas in third and fourth with scores of 6-under 570 and 5-under 571, respectively. The Savage Storm are just one shot back of ninth-place Cameron (+12), while Arkansas-Monticello is eighth at 11-over 587.
Jesse Rouse leads the SE lineup through two rounds after turning a 36-hole score of 6-under 138 on the first day and is tied for third individually. Rouse shot 3-under in both rounds with ten birdies combined and put in a bogey-free back nine in the second round with three birdies.
Trent Pollard carded a 5-over 149 on the day and had four birdies across the two rounds and sits tied for 41
st on the player leaderboard. Just behind Pollard,
Bo Gentry is tied for 52
nd with a score of 8-over 152 through 36 holes of play. The freshman turned in seven birdies on the first day, including four on the back nine of the second round.
Tristun Burnham shot 12-over 156 and sits 64
th on the player leaderboard. Burnham sank four birdies in the first round and added another three in the second to finish the day with seven total. Rounding out the five-bag, freshman
Jesse Tandoy carded an 18-over 162 with four birdies and ranks 73
rd individually.
SE will look to climb the leaderboard at the Battle of the Belt in the final round of play tomorrow from the Hot Springs Country Club.
