RESULTS
LAWTON, Okla. – In the opening meet of the 2024 season for the Southeastern Oklahoma State women's cross country program, the team placed fourth at the Aggies Duels, hosted by Cameron University.
West Texas A&M secured the win at the meet with a team score of 35, followed closely by hosts Cameron with 37 points. Midwestern State checked in next with a score of 79, and the Savage Storm slotted into fourth with 85 points. Amarillo College (5
th), Northwestern Oklahoma State (6
th), Ranger (7
th) and North Central Texas (8
th) rounded out the finishes at the meet.
The Storm saw five top-25 individual finishes, including a top-15 placement from
Ashlen Clem and
Arden Kesterson. A. Clem paced the side with a time of 18:35.69, finishing 5th, while Kesterson finished with a time of 19:14.09, earning a 13
th place mark. Crossing the line shortly after,
Rayla Castillo (21
st) and
Katlen Clem (22nd) finished with the exact same times at 19:24.28.
Alexis Longoria was next to cross the finish line at 19:37.36, placing 24
th in the first meet of the season.
Genevi Martinez followed in 27
th at 19:44.63, and
Calibre Keene (35
th) would be next to finish, posting a 20:17.39.
Cassandra Vargas recorded a time of 20:34.39 to place 39
th and was soon joined at the finish line by teammates
Savannah Sandoval and
Devyn Doakes, who completed the meet at 20:57.18 and 21:01.17, respectively.
Next to cross the line for the Storm was
Cheyanne Gorman in 54th with a time of 21:32.79 and was followed closely by
Andrea Lopez in 58
th at 21:53.02. Rounding out the times,
Aereonna Cardenas and
Delilah Roberts reached the finish line at 22:29.75 and 22:46.04, respectively.
Southeastern Oklahoma State cross country returns to action again on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Rhodes Invitational at 8 a.m.
