MONTICELLO, Ark. –
Katlen Clem earned First Team All-GAC after setting a new program record at the GAC Championships, helping Southeastern to a sixth-place finish with 137 points.
Arkansas Tech secured first-place with 59 points to beat out Ouachita Baptist, who finished second with 64 points. Little separated third and fourth place, as East Central garnered 70 points, while Oklahoma Baptist, in fourth, had 80 points.
Clem put in a blistering time on Saturday morning, crossing the finish line at 18:16.50 to set the fastest 5K time by a Storm member in program history. The Ardmore, Okla. native's efforts saw her finish ninth individually and earn First Team All-GAC honors.
Finishing just outside the top 20,
Ashlen Clem clocked a time of 18:40.89 to secure 22
nd individually, while
Anahi Machuca followed just behind at 18:53.19 in 31
st. Rounding out the top 40 individual finishes,
Devyn Doakes placed 38
th after crossing the line at 19:04.88. Seconds later,
Calibre Keene recorded a time of 19:18.01 to earn a 41
st-place finish.
From there, the blue and gold saw back-to-back finishes with
Anjelika Abraham (57
th) setting a time of 19:36.04, and
Tatum Cross (58
th) finishing at 19:36.47. Laura Garza was next to make it to the finish line for the Storm at the 19:43.82 mark. Southeastern would soon see two runners finish in quick succession, with
Mireyda Samper and
Genevi Martinez crossing the line at 20:02.48 and 20:04.88, respectively.
Next to finish for the Storm,
Cassandra Vargas put in a time of 20:11.89 to place 85
th, and was followed by
Sarah Coblentz in 93
rd at 20:22.37.
Aereonna Cardenas recorded a time of 20:31.98, while
McKenna Wood and
Andrea Lopez rounded out the meet with times of 21:10.90 and 22:32.76, respectively.
