DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern held its own while hosting the Betty Gayle Cooper Ratliff Memorial Rodeo as the women ran out to a first-place team finish while the men's team turned in a third-place performance over the weekend.

Emma Ricke paced the women's team, making the finals in two of the three events.

She had her best effort in the breakaway roping where she clocked a 2.4 int eh first round to earn the top spot in qualifying before closing the weekend with a Saturday afternoon run of 2.5, splitting 2
nd/3
rd in the round while taking home the top spot in the average.

In the barrel racing she ran her pattern in 17.10 which was the eighth best time in qualifying before closing her efforts with a 16.68 in the finals which was good for second-place in the round and moved her up to fourth in the average.

Her efforts moved her to second place regionally in the breakaway and sixth place in the region among barrel racers.

Jaiden Wilmoth joined Ricke in the finals after turning in a time of 16.96 to finish fifth in the first round.

She would come back and win the finals with a run of 16.59 which moved her to second in the average for the weekend and lift her to fourth-place in the region.

Southeastern returned a pair of qualifiers int eh goat tying, with
Jillian Presley leading that duo as she posted finished the first round in sixth before closing the weekend with a 6.4 in the finals, taking home first in the round and second in the average, boosting herself to third in the region.

Lauren Weller joined her in the finals after finishing 10
th in the qualifying on a run of 7.5. She followed up with a 7.7 in the finals to finish seventh in the round and moved to eighth in the average. She is currently ranked fifth in the region.

The men were paced by
Blake Carter who clocked an 8.6 in the first round to reach the finals in first place in the tie down roping. Carter kept up the momentum in the finals where his time of 9.0 was good for first, giving him the average championship and moving him to the top spot in the region.

Colton Matlock nearly matched his outing in the bareback riding as he finished third in the first round with a score of 75 and finished second in the finals with a 71-point ride, finishing second in the average and moving into second place in the region.

Justin Ochs and his partner Treyden Larmen from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M turned in a 6.8 second run in the team roping qualifying to split sixth place.

The duo would come back in the finals with a run of 6.9 and finish second in the round and the average, moving into first place regionally.
Â
The performances by both the men and the women lifted them to third place regionally as teams.

Southeastern will be back in the arena Oct. 2-4 when it travels to Stillwater, Okla. For the Oklahoma State Collegiate Rodeo.
