EDOMND, Okla. – At the end of 54 holes of play at the Skip Wagon Invitational, Southeastern shot 43-over 883 to finish 18
th as a team. The Savage Storm rounded out the tournament with a 17-over 297 score in round three.
St. Mary's remained the tournament leaders on day two to win the event with a score of 34-under 806. Central Oklahoma joined SMU as one of three teams to shoot under par in all three rounds, as UCO secured second with a 30-under 810 after seeing an 8-under Par round three. Rounding out the top three, Missouri Southern shot 15-under 825 following a 2-under Par day.
Nicholas Martin tied for the best score in the third round for SE, as he fired in a 2-over 72 on the last day with a bogey-free front nine that included an eagle on the Par 5 hole four. After 54 holes of play, the Frisco, Texas native placed tied for 50
th individually with a final score of 7-over 217. Just behind Martin,
Austin Skierski turned in an 8-over 218 to tie for 58
th after matching his best round from day one, shooting 2-over 72 in the third.
Tristun Burnham wrapped with a 6-over 76 in round three for a final 54-hole score of 10-over 220. Burnham tied for 67
th individually, scattered eight birdies across the three rounds, and was one of two players for the blue and gold to sink an eagle.
Talan Haley (91
st) combined for a final score of 18-over 228 with a day two score of 7-over 77. Haley recorded two birdies in each of the three rounds to end the event with six.
In his first collegiate action this season,
Reid Sharp completed the final day of play with a 9-over 79 with a trio of birdies. At the end of three rounds, Sharp turned in a 24-over 234 to wrap up the Skip Wagon Invitational. Southeastern closes out the fall portion of its schedule next time out, when it travels to Broken Arrow, Okla., to play in the Tulsa Cup on October 27-28.
