SERIES NOTES
- The Savage Storm fell in the first meeting of the Battle of the Storms, as the Crimson Storm won 3-0 in Bethany. The win for SNU snapped a four-match win streak for the blue and gold, dating back to the 2023 season.
- Ahead of the 36th matchup, the series leans towards Southern Nazarene, who leads all-time 27-10.
STORM REPORT
Southeastern suffered a road defeat to Southwestern Oklahoma State in the second meeting this season to close out its remaining road slate. The Storm took the opening set with a 25-23 win, but the Bulldogs found their footing in the next three sets for a 3-1 victory. Following the defeat, SE is 9-18 overall and 4-11 heading into the season finale.
Offensively,
Alaina Armstrong helped lead the attack for SE on Tuesday, recording her second double-digit kill match in three contests and third overall after finishing with ten kills. In addition, Armstrong added 17 digs to her totals for her fifth double-digit dig contest and third double-double of the year. This season, Armstrong is averaging 2.15 kills per set and has totaled 84 kills across 39 sets.
Noelia Rocha eclipsed 200 kills on the year after slamming down nine versus SWOSU. This marks the third consecutive season Rocha will finish the year with 200 or more kills. The senior from San Antonio, Texas, paces the blue and gold with 201 kills and is averaging 2.23 per set, while Southeastern is seeing 11.7 kills per frame as a team.
The attack ran through
Jasmin Dion on Tuesday evening, as the freshman paced the side with 35 assists - the second most recorded by Dion this season. The Cedar Park, Texas native has two 30-assist or more outings in her last seven appearances and six total for the year. Dion leads the blue and gold with 7.22 assists per set and is one of four players in the conference with 600 assists (635) this season.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN NAZARENE
Southern Nazarene heads into Thursday with two wins in its last three contests after defeating East Central 3-1 at home. The win over the Tigers pushed the Crimson Storm to 5-10 in the GAC and 10-17 overall. Heading into the final match of the season, SNU is tied with Southern Arkansas in the league standings for eighth.
The Crimson Storm lineup features one of the top attackers and serves in the GAC, as Kate Wright ranks second in kills and Hannah Morgan is third in service aces. Write is averaging 3.42 kills per set for SNU and has recorded 18 double-digit kill matches, including 13 most recently against ECU. Morgan has been dialed in from the service line this season, having tallied 40 aces and is averaging 0.47 per frame.
