DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Director of Athletic
Keith Baxter has named
Kyle Braudrick as the interim head coach for the Savage Storm rodeo program following the departure of Christie Braudrick.
Â
"We're excited to have the opportunity to have Kyle guide the program following Christie's departure," said Baxter. "The two of them have raised the stature of this program to a national level again, and to be able to maintain the continuity for the remainder of this season gives our student-athletes the best chance to continue that success."
Â
"I think it will help keep continuity with the program," said
Kyle Braudrick, "We've been pretty successful this season and I think this will help continue that. We're ranked in the top three in both the men's and the women's, and we hope to continue that success we've had and send both teams to the college finals this summer."
Â
Braudrick has been an integral part of building the program to its current level of success since coming on to assist his wife Christie in the summer of 2013.
Â
He has handled the rough stock competitors for the Storm, helping guide eight competitors to CNFR appearances across the bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, and steer wrestling in just the last three seasons.
Â
Due in large part to his work, SE has become a destination for rough stock competitors looking to advance at the regional and national level.
Â
Christie Braudrick leaves the program midway through her 11
th season to take over the same role for the Kansas State rodeo program.
