Baseball Crosses Red River to Take on Austin College Tuesday

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern baseball will step out of conference for a rare midweek doubleheader as it hops south across the Red River for a Texoma tangle against Austin College with the twinbill set to start at 2 p.m. in Sherman, Texas.
 
The Savage Storm come into the matchup with an 8-12 record overall but has won the last five meetings between the two programs.
 
The SE offense is led by Wesley Mitchell who is carrying a .343 average with team highs in home runs with six and RBI with 21.
 
Chase Keeton is hitting .317 with five homers and 14 RBI, while Payton Poole, Ryan Kirk, Colton Sagely, and Alex Showalter are each hitting .280 or better.
 
The Storm pitching staff carries a 6.71 team ERA and has posted 148 strikeouts on the season.
 
Carson Abbott has recorded a pair of saves in relief, while Jordan Brown, Brock Zimmer, and Brayden Phelps have each logged one.
 
AC enters the twinbill with a 4-11 record overall and is 4-3 in its last eight games after an 0-8 start.
 
Offensively the Roos are led by Jayden Ayala-Hinojosa who is hitting .400, while four others carry .300 averages.
 
Desmond Squalls leads the team in RBI with 16 with a team-best two home runs.
 
The AC pitching staff carries an 8.95 ERA on the year with opposing hitters batting .321.
