DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State falls at home to Northwest Missouri State 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
SE opened the match with a 1-0 lead, winning the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2. The partnership of
Jou Chen Chen and
Carol Mora remains red-hot, as they picked up another win at No. 1 6-3.
Tania Sfilio and
Sara Gonzalez secured the doubles point with a win at Court 2 6-2.
The blue and gold soon stretched the lead to 3-0 in the singles round, picking up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 through
Milana Voloshyn and
Emilse Ruiz. The pair both won in straight sets, as Voloshyn earned a 6-4 and 6-1 win, while Ruiz took down NWMSU's Alva Norberg 6-2 and 6-3. Despite the lead, the Bearcats picked up their first win at Court 4, which sparked the visitors to win the next three matches to get a 4-3 win.
Southeastern (7-3) remains at home for its next match on Thursday, Mar. 13, as the Storm host Southwest Baptist at noon from the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
