ARLINGTON, Texas – The Southeastern Oklahoma State women's tennis program fell to No. 7 Lubbock Christian 4-2 Sunday afternoon in Arlington, Texas.
The Savage Storm carried a 1-0 lead into the singles round after securing the doubles point with wins at Courts 1 and 3. Highlighting the doubles round, the partnership of
Carol Mora and
Jou Chen Chen took down the No. 19 doubles duo in Division II 7-5, defeating LCU's Andrea De Bernardo and Axelle Jacquemin. Later in the round,
Amishi Shukla and
Emilse Ruiz clinched the point with a 6-4 win at No. 3.
Lubbock Christian tied things 1-all with a win at No. 1, but not long after, Ruiz put the Storm back ahead 2-1 with a win No. 3 6-1 and 6-2. However, Lady Chaparrals took the next three wins during the singles round at No. 3, 4 and 5 to grab the win 4-2.
Southeastern (6-2) heads home for a showdown with Northwest Missouri State at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 11, from the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
