WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southeastern continued its dominant run through the spring season as the Savage Storm men turned in a first-place finish while the women posted a second-place finish at the Southwestern Oklahoma State Rodeo in Weatherford, Okla.

The men's team had its biggest turnout in the bareback riding where four competitors posted top-10 rides in the first round.
Â
Owen Brouillette led that group with a round-winning 78, but he was unable to complete the weekend as an injury kept him out of his second ride.
Â
Braden Tyrer was third place after one ride with a 72 and followed up with a 76 in the finals to place third in the round and third in the average.
Â
Tyler Griffin was right behind with a 70 in the first round to finish fourth and a 70 in the second round to finish fourth again in the round an the average.
Â
Colton Matlock with sixth in the first round on a ride of 65 followed by a 65 in the final round which was then good for fifth, leaving him fifth in the average.
Â
Tyrer is currently ranked second in the event in the Central Plains Region, with Griffin in third,
Luke Thrash in fifth, and Matlock in sixth. Brouillette is ranked 11
th after missing the first semester with a neck injury.

Blake Carter turned in the best individual performance for the men, clocking a 9.8 in the first round of the tie down roping to finish second and make the final. Once there he posted a 9.4 which won the round and lifted him to the top spot in the average.

Carter currently leads the Central Plains region in the tie down while
Jarvis Demrey is ranked fifth.

Demrey turned in his out solid outing in the steer wrestling where he split first in the opening round with a time of 5.0. He closed his weekend with a run of 4.7 in the finals, finishing second in the round and the average. It also moved him up to third regionally in the event.

The women had their best team effort of the weekend in the goat tying where three competitors made it back to the finals.

Emma Ricke led that group in the first round with a run of 7.8 to split 3
rd/4
th before turning in a run of 8.3 in the finals to finish seventh in the round and fourth in the average.

Hannah Giger bounced back from an 8.3 in the first round which split 12
th/13
th but bounced back in the finals with a 7.7 to split 1
st/2
nd and move up to third in the average.

Grace Collins moved to the finals after an 8.0 run that was good for fifth in the round but took a no time in the finals.
Â
Giger moved up to sixth-place regionally in the goat tying, while Collins checks in ninth.
Â
In the barrel racing the Storm were led by
Casey Mathis who put together a 16.26 in the first round to split 4th before following up with a 15.45 in the finals to finish seventh and finish fifth in the average.
Â
Matchis currently ranks second in the region in the barrels, while Ricke is fifth, followed by
Jaiden Wilmoth in eighth and
Laney Hoffman in 15
th.

Kieley Walz made the finals in the breakaway roping after splitting 11
th with a run of 3.7, but took a no time in the finals.
Â
Cutter Cain and his partner Jordan Lovins from Western Oklahoma State suffered a similar fate in the team roping, clocking a run of 7.6 to finish seventh in the first round before also taking a no time in the finals.

Caleb Meeks was also dinged with a similar fate in the saddle bronc riding where he won the first round on a ride of 76 but no scored in the finals.

Both he SE men and women currently rank second in the region as a team, while Demrey is ranked third in the all-around on the  men;'s side and Giger is ranked second in the all-around for the women.
