RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference released the 2025-26 preseason poll for men's golf, and Southeastern was voted ninth by the league's coaches.
Harding topped the poll, edging out last year's tournament champions, Henderson State, with 76 total votes and five first-place nods. HSU followed just behind with 72 points and three first-place tallies, while Arkansas Tech (68) collected the final two first-place votes in third. Rounding out the top five, Southern Arkansas grabbed fourth by one vote with 55 points, and in fifth, Southwestern Oklahoma State received 54 votes.
Helping lead the Storm in 2025-26 is first-year head coach Charlie Means, who takes over after spending four years as the head coach for the men's and women's golf teams at Denison High School. Means returns two players from last year's roster in
Tristun Burnham and
Nicholas Martin, who finished ninth at the GAC Tournament.
In addition, the blue and gold added five newcomers during the offseason, with the additions of four freshmen and a transfer in
Dilyn Hart from Murray State College.
Southeastern gets its season started at the Muskogee Country Club, where the Savage Storm will play in the NSU Men's Golf Classic on September 15-16. SE is slated to play in five events this fall before the winter break and will resume play again in the spring.
