HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Through two rounds of play at the Battle for the Belt, Southeastern is tied for ninth with a 36-hole score of 22-over 598. SE shot 18-over 306 in the round and quickly improved in the second, shooting 4-over 292.

Three teams shot par or better on day one, with Union (Tenn.) and Henderson State tied for first at 4-under 572. Harding is third at even-par, while Delta State and Southern Arkansas round out the top five at 2-over 578 and 5-over 581, respectively.

Nicholas Martin put in the lowest score across the day, carding a two-over 146 after shooting 1-over 73 in both rounds. Martin scattered six birdies over the two rounds, with four coming in round one.
Talan Haley saw the next best score at 6-over 150, having shot 2-over 74 and 4-over 76. Haley's best round came in the first as he carded a 2-over 74 with back-to-back birdies on holes 10 and 11.

Austin Skierski began the day with a 9-over 81, and after the slow start, he picked up the pace in the second round, where he turned in a 2-under 70 for the best individual round for the Storm lineup. The freshman had a near flawless second round with three birdies and an eagle on the Par 5 hole nine for his second of the day. Skierski through two rounds at the Battle for the Belt is 7-over 151.

Tristun Burnham checked in just behind the freshman as he carded a 36-hole score of 8-over 152. Burnham turned in a 7-over 79 in round one and later saw his best play in the second, carding a 1-over 73.
Dilyn Hart finished off the day at 14-over 158 after seeing an 8-over 80 and a 6-over 78 with five combined birdies.

Southeastern will look to climb the leaderboard on day two in the final round of action at the Battle for the Belt.
