Jasmin Dion is voted the GAC Setter of the Week for the first time in her career after helping Southeastern to a 2-0 week.
Dion set the tone for the Savage Storm's attack in its two wins last week, passing around 85 assists, averaging 14.17 per set, and chipping in 10 kills. The sophomore setter got the week started with 41 assists in the win against Southern Arkansas and added 11 digs to her totals for her sixth double-double this season. The sophomore setter followed with 44 assists and seven kills in the 3-0 win over Arkansas-Monticello.
The Cedar Park, Texas, native ranks third in the GAC with 9.37 assists per set, which also ranks 39
th in Division II. Dion has totaled 637 assists this season, along with 156 digs and 64 kills. In her last six matches, Dion has eclipsed 40 assists in five of those, including a season-high of 50 against Southern Nazarene.
Dion and Southeastern begin a two-match road swing in Arkansas on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. against Henderson State, followed by Ouachita Baptist on Friday at 5 p.m.
