SE Travels to Arkansas For Series vs HSU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern baseball is set to hit the road for the first three games of a seven-game road trip beginning with a three-game series at Henderson State with the opener set for 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 followed by a Saturday twinbill at noon on Feb. 21 in Arkadelphia, Ark.
 
The Savage Storm jump back into Great American Conference play with a 5-4 record overall on the season and a 2-1 mark in league play.
 
The Reddies head into the weekend series with a 5-3 record overall and an 0-3 mark in GAC action.
 
SE is coming off a midweek win over Southwestern Oklahoma State which gave the program its fourth win in its last three games following a 2-1 series victory over Ouachita Baptist to open league play.
 
HSU started its season 4-0 before getting swept to open conference play at East Central, but it did pick up a midweek win over Mississippi college on Tuesday.
 
Isaac Villa paces the Storm offense with a .400 average and has reached base safely in all nine games so far on the year, adding four doubles, a triple, and a team-high 12 runs scored with six stolen bases.
 
Reigning GAC Player of the Week JJ Bush comes into the series hitting .364 with three homers, four doubles and 11 RBI while adding three stolen bases.
 
Carter Olson is also hitting .364 with three homers and a team-high 15 RBI.
 
Easton Ford and Jax Heid are each hitting .320 or better as well.
 
Estevan Fonseca continues to pace the Storm starters with a 5.06 ERA and a 2-0 record and 10 strikeouts, while Jacob Fuller and Dylan Hill have each recorded a pair of weekend starts.
 
The Reddie offense is paced by Tripp Campbell who is hitting .448 with a team-high 11 RBI, while Mason Krznarich has a team-best three home runs.
 
Ethan Roark leads the way for the pitching staff with a 4.35 ERA across two starts with 16 strikeouts despite an 0-1 record, while David Andrus has recorded two wins, both in relief.
