Storm Baseball Returns Home to Host ATU

DURANT, Okla. – For the first time in nearly a month Southeastern returns to Mike Metheny Field for a weekend series as it is set to host Arkansas Tech an a three-game series with game one slated for 3 p.m. on March 13, with the final two games set for a March 14 doubleheader at noon.
 
Following back-to-back road weekends, weather forced a change of venue last weekend leading to nearly a month of road weekend dates before returning to Mike Metheny Field for a conference matchup.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with a 13-8 record overall and an 8-4 mark in GAC play.
 
Southeastern has been paced on the season by a group of eight hitters who are batting over .300 on the season.
 
That group is led by Carter Olson who is putting up a .373 average with four doubles, 10 home runs and a team-high 32 RBI.
 
JJ Bush follows with a .359 average that includes seven doubles, seven homers and 26 RBI.
 
Isaac Villa, Ryan Kirk, Austin Parker, Jacob Ambriz, Alex Showalter, and Hayden Carpenter are each boasting averages over .300.
 
Kirk matches Olson's home run total with 10 and has added 30 RBI, while Villa has a team-best eight doubles and 12 stolen bases.
 
Estevan Fonseca leads the pitching staff with a 3-1 record and a 6.38 ERA, while Jacob Fuller has a team-leading 21 strikeouts across five starts.
 
Brock Zimmer paces the bullpen with a 1-0 record and two saves and a 0.00 ERA across seven appearances.
 
ATU comes into the weekend with a 14-10 record overall on the season and a 9-3 mark in conference play.
 
The Wonder Boys are led by Derek Rockett who is hitting .377 on the season, while Kirby Jenkins is hitting .345 with seven doubles, five homers and 31 RBI.
 
ATU's pitching staff is led by Creighton Jacobitz who is 3-3 on the year with a 4.45 ERA and a staff-high 27 strikeouts.
 
Eric Woodley leads the bullpen with four saves and a pair of wins across seven appearances.
