Ricke, Carter Win All-Arounds to Pace SE Rodeo at FSCC

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern was back in the arena and saw Blake Carter and Emma Ricke win the men's and women's all-around titles while the women finished second in the team standing and the men turned in a third-place finish at the Fort Scott CC Rodeo in Fort Scott, Kan.
 
Ricke was dominant in her efforts, first picking up an event title in the breakaway roping after finishing second in the first round with a 2.3 and second in the finals with a 2.7, but the combination was enough to earn her the win in the average.
 
She put on a repeat performance in the barrel racing, this time winning the first go with a run of 13.49 and followed with a win in the finals, clocking a 13.29 to finish the round and the average.
 
Jaiden Wilmoth joined her in the finals of the barrel racing after clocking a first-round run of 13.69 which was good for second. She would catch a barrel in the finals and turn in an 18.93 which would take her out of the average.
 
Jillian Presley rounded out the Storm women in the finals as she turned in a 7.1 in the first round of the goat tying which was good for second place, but a 10.6 in the finals would drop her out of the average chase.
 
Carter got his weekend started by advancing to the finals in the tie down roping with a 13.3. He picked up the pace in the finals, clocking a 10.2 to finish second in the round and move up to third in the average.
 
He tacked on points in the team roping where he and partner Lucas Peterson finished third in the first round with a 7.2 but slipped to sixth in the average after taking a no time in the finals.
 
SE sent five total ropers to the finals of the team roping event, with Cutter Cain turning in the highest finish as he partnered with Garden City CC's Creek Williams to finish second in the long-go with a run of 6.4, but they also did not catch in the finals which dropped them to fifth in the average.
 
Justin Ochs paired with Northeastern Oklahoma A&M's Treydon Larmon and the duo finished fourth with a time of 7.3, but would slip out of the average with a no time in the finals.
 
Levi James partnered with Murray State's Case Phillips and the duo moved ot the finals after posting an 11.8 in the first round, but would also miss out on the average with a no time in the finals.
 
Tyler Griffin posted a 73 in his first bareback ride of the weekend which split third place in the first round. He followed with a 75 in the finals, once again splitting third-place but the combination was enough to lift him to second in the average.
 
Gauge McBride, Cole Kerner, and Colton Matlock all scored in the event as well.
 
Kerner split fourth-place with Griffin on a 73 in the first round and split fifth in the finals with a score of 68 to finish fifth overall in the average.
 
McBride advanced with a 68 in the first round and finished second in the finals on a ride of 77 which lifted him to fourth in the average.
 
Matlock rounded out the threesome, putting up a ride of 68 in the first round before splitting fourth with Griffin in the finals on a score of 75 to finish sixth in the average.
 
Waylon Buquoi picked up a big win in the bull riding event, turning in an 84 on his first ride which was enough to propel him to a win in the average.
 
Cole Beasley rounded out the Storm men who advanced to the finals, doing so in the saddle bronc riding where he opened the event with a 73 to reach the finals.  In the finals she carded a 75 which split fifth.
