Southeastern Bounces Back at Home, Defeats Cowley County

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern rallied against Cowley County CC at the Southeastern Tennis Complex, winning four of the six singles matches to earn a 4-3 win on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Savage Storm split the first two doubles matches of the day, as Lilly Shepherd and Sreevally Medishetti secured a 6-2 win at line two, but the visitors would win in the deciding match on court three to take the doubles point.
 
SE soon fell behind 2-0 in the match at the start of singles play, but quickly pulled a point back at Court 1, behind a three-set battle from Emilia O'Neill, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3. Amishi Shukla soon followed with a win over CCCC's Cynthia Wanjala, 7-6 and 6-3, to even the match 2-2, though the visitors would strike next with a win at spot six to push ahead again.
 
The blue and gold continued to battle, as Lilly Shepherd tied the match 3-all after earning a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win at Court 4. The momentum stayed on the sides of Southeastern, as Medishetti delivered at line five with a straight set win (6-4, 6-4) over Cowley County's Kendra Arostegui to clinch the winning point, 4-3.
 
Southeastern (4-7) heads to Tahlequah, Okla., on Thursday, March 26 at 1 p.m. to take on Northeastern State.
