DURANT, Okla. – The Southeastern softball program returns to the Southeastern Softball Field on April 2 and 3 to host Southwestern Oklahoma State. The Savage Storm and Bulldogs are slated for the doubleheader on Thursday, starting at 1 p.m., before playing the series finale on Friday at noon.

SERIES NOTES
- The blue and gold have won their last eight series against SWOSU and are 7-3 in the last ten meetings. Since 2008, SE is 52-11 against the Bulldogs and is  27-5 versus SWOSU in Durant.

STORM REPORT
Southeastern came up short on the road at Oklahoma Baptist in its last action. The Storm rallied in the series opener to defeat then-No. 17 OBU 8-6, but would fall in games two and three, despite leading going into the bottom of the seventh. Following the series with the Bison, SE is 7-11 in the GAC and 13-21 overall.

Tally Rowland was the hero in game one in Shawnee, as the freshman recorded a grand slam for her first home run of the season, and she would blast a second grand slam in game two. Rowland entered the weekend with two RBIs and now has 11 on the season after batting in nine. The freshman has ten hits on a .222 average, and five of those hits have gone for extra bases, with three doubles and two home runs. Â

Emily Simmons shined across the series at OBU in the circle and at the plate, pitching a complete game in SE's 8-6 win over OBU, and tallying five hits and seven RBIs. Simmons leads the team with 28 runs driven in on 27 hits, while having pitched 72.2 frames with a 5-6 record and a 4.24 ERA.
Susan Edwards recently surpassed her season-total hits from a year ago (39), as she paces the Storm lineup with 47 on a .382 average. Edwards ranks third in the GAC in total hits and has scored the fifth most runs this season.
As a team, Southeastern ranks fifth in the league in batting average at .279 and has scored 147 runs, averaging 4.3 per game. Additionally, the Storm are third in the GAC in home runs (23) and fifth in doubles with 44, led by
Iliana Olivares with nine. In the circle, SE carries a team ERA of 4.29 and has allowed 172 runs across 233.1 innings, while racking up 161 strikeouts.

SCOUTING SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE
Southwestern Oklahoma State comes into the week 11-24 overall and 5-13 in the GAC standings after losing its series at home to East Central. The Bulldogs have one conference series win this season, when SWOSU won two of three against Arkansas-Monticello. The Bulldogs are led by first-year head coach Cheyenne Mahy, who played three seasons at Southeastern.

SWOSU is batting .265 as a team and carries a 3.78 ERA, which ranks eighth and seventh-best across the GAC. The Bulldog lineup is led by Maddie Rahon, who has recorded 34 hits on a .358 average and has seven doubles and a triple. Landry Bayless leads the side with 17 RBIs and has five home runs scattered across 25 hits this season. In the circle, Alexis Williams paces the staff with a 3.17 ERA and a 4-6 record across 17 appearances and struck out a team-high 60 batters.
