Storm Baseball Hosts UAM in Key Weekend Series

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern baseball will be looking to make a statement when it returns to Mike Metheny Field to host league-leading Arkansas-Monticello in a three-game series, with a doubleheader set for 1 p.m. on April 10 followed by the series finale at 1 p.m. on April 11.
 
The Savage storm enter the weekend with a 22-18 record overall and a 13-11 mark in Great American Conference play.
 
SE continues to pace the GAC in home runs with 75, 20 more homers as a team than the second-place program, and are led by JJ Bush who ranks second in the league with 14, with Carter Olson and Ryan Kirk tied for third with 13 each.
 
Olson leads the team with a .375 average and is second in the conference in RBI with 47.
 
Isaac Villa follows with a .356 average, while Bush, Tyler Payton, and Ryan Kirk are each batting better than .200 on the year.
 
Storm starting pitchers are led by Estevan Fonseca who is carrying a 402 record with a 5.97 ERA and 24 strikeouts.
 
Cody Pfeffer and Carson Abbott each have a 3-0 record in relief, with Pfeffer also holding a 1.73 ERA along with two saves.
 
Brock Zimmer leads the team in saves with three over 12 appearances with a 1-1 record and a 1.72 ERA.
 
UAM is led on the season by Camden Tanner who is hitting .453 with 11 home runs and 46 RBI.
 
Hunter Heath paces the Boll Weevils pitching staff with a 5.66 ERA and a 3-2 record with 30 strikeouts across nine starts, while John White has logged four saves in 14 appearances.
