DURANT, Okla. -  Southeastern will close out the 2012 season against arch-rival East Central at 2 p.m. on Nov. 10 in Ada, Okla.

Southeastern at East Central Game Notes

The Savage Storm enter the contest at 4-5 on the year after a 31-9 loss to No. 16 Harding, while the Tigers come into the meeting at 5-5 on the season after a 33-30 win over Arkansas Tech.

Against the Tigers… Saturday marks the 96th meeting all-time between Southeastern and East Central, making it SE's longest running rivalry while also making it the second-longest college football rivalry in the state of Oklahoma behind the OU-OSU rivalry.  The series began in 1909 with a 49-0 win by SE and has met every year that the schools fielded teams since 1941.  SE holds a narrow 45-44-6 advantage in the rivalry after ECU picked up wins int he last two meetings.  SE regained the series lead thanks to a six game winning streak from 2004 to 2009.

Southeastern celebrates 100th season of football… The 2012 season will mark the 100th season of competition for SE football which fielded its first team in 1909.  Southeastern has fielded a team every year since then except for the span between 1943 and 1945 during World War II.  SE has played 946 games over that span, posting a 452-450-44 record.

Notes from last time out… SE saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with a 31-9 loss to No. 16 Harding... SE posted the first 100-yard rushing performance against HU in eight weeks... SE struggled int he red zone going 1-for-4 on scoring chances... Nick Sioson has thrown TD passes in back-to-back games... SE has recovered a fumble in six-straight games and seven of the nine games this season... SE has forced a turnover in eight of nine games this season.

About the Coaches… Ray Richards (Northern Michigan, 1981) took over the reins for the Southeastern Oklahoma State football program prior to the 2005 season and quickly built on to SE's successful history.  Richards has compiled a 36-37 record at SE and an overall career record of 50-67, with head coaching stints at Southeastern and Southwest Baptist University.  The 2011 squad opened the year with back-to-back wins before going to a 2-8 season and a ninth place finish in the first season of Great American Conference play.  SE had three all conference award winners, highlighted by first team selection Ryan Shelley who turned in the league's best single-game receiving mark with 225 yards against East Central.  In seven seasons at SE, Richards' teams have produced 25 first team all-conference honors as well as 37 all-conference second team honors.  His teams also won eight specialty awards in the LSC, including his own Coach of the Year nod following the 2005 season.
Tim McCarty is headed into his fourth season of his second stint as the Tiger head coach.  Following a two-year stint at ECU, McCarty accepted the position of assistant head coach/offensive line coach at Kansas State, where she served for three seasons.  At Kansas State, he coached six all-conference players along the offensive line, including Jordan Bedore, who was on the Remington Trophy watch list and Greg Wafford, who signed with the NFL's Washington Redskins.  His first head coaching job came at traditionally-beleaguered Tabor College (Kan.). His previous coaching stints include: asst. coach at Greenville (1998-99), offensive coordinator and track coach at Southwest Baptist (1994-97), offensive coordinator at Dodge City CC (1990-93), asst. at Middle Tennessee State (1988), GA at Kansas (1987), asst. at Hays HS (1986) and student assistant at his alma mater Fort Hays State (1984-85).
