SE Runners Compete at Central Regional

RESULTS

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Southeastern made its first trip to the Central Region cross country championship since switching to the region and finished the 6K race in 23rd place out of field of 30 teams and 203 runners in Sioux Falls, S. D. on Saturday morning.
 
The race was the first 6K run for the team this season and was held at Yankton Trail Park and hosted by Augustana.
 
For the first time this season Haylee Story crossed the finish line as the Savage Storm's top finisher in 128th place with a time of 24:14.43, mere steps ahead of Bailee Weger who crossed in 129th place with a time of 24:15.50.
 
Shelby Fraser crossed next in 148th place with a mark of 24:39.41, while Traci Lee crossed 12 seconds later with a time of 24:51.00 in 156th place.
 
Kayle Reaves was the next Storm finisher, turning in a time of 25:26.61 to finish 173rd place, while Amanda Kirby rounded out the SE runners with a time of 28:48.48 to finish in 201st place.
 
Minnesota-Duluth took the meet's top spot, while Great American Conference rivals Harding finished 10th and Southern Arkansas posted a 19th place finish.  SE did finish in front of conference opponents East Central who crossed in 26th and Arkansas Tech who was in 27th.
