DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State takes fifth place at the 2024 GAC Championships in Ada, Okla., with a team score of 106.
Ashlen Clem earned First Team All-GAC honors and
Anjelika Abraham was named Second Team All-GAC after finishing in the Top 20 individually.
Ouachita Baptist won the 5K event with a combined team score of 48, with Arkansas Tech coming in just behind in second with 58 points. East Central finished third with a team score of 76 and just edging out the Storm in fourth, Oklahoma Baptist tallied 103 points. SE bested Harding (6
th) and Southern Arkansas (7
th), while Northwestern Oklahoma State, Southern Nazarene and Southwestern Oklahoma State round out the Top 10.
Clem paced the SE lineup, earning a ninth-place finish with a time of 19:04.57, and was joined by teammate Abraham in the Top 15 with a time of 19:22.53 to place 15
th individually.
Katlen Clem was next to cross the line for the Storm at 19:32.04 to finish 21
st. Southeastern would then see three runners all finish back-to-back-to-back, starting with
Calibre Keene in 33
rd at 20:04.24, followed by
Rayla Castillo (34
th) and
Alexis Longoria (35
th) at 20:05.01 and 20:06.25, respectively.
Arden Kesterson finished just behind the group in 38
th with a time of 20:09.52.
Genevi Martinez crossed the line next for the blue-and-gold at 20:38.76 to place 52
nd, and
Devyn Doakes would finish just behind at 21:17.12 in 68
th place.
Sarah Coblentz posted a time of 21:48.59 in 82
nd, while
Savannah Sandoval followed closely, crossing the line at 21:59.56 to finish 86
th.
