The Savage Storm picked up game one 10-1 before taking the finale 10-2.

The wins lift SE to 11-8 overall on the season and event he GAC record at 6-6.

Southeastern will be back on the diamond with its second-straight road swing, this time stepping out of conference for a three-game set with Angelo State March 12-13 in San Angelo, Texas.

Storm pitching continued to be strong on Saturday, allowing a total of six hits over two games.

In game one, three pitchers combined on a one-hitter with Eddie Cervantes picking up his fourth win in relief.

David Cagle got the start and allowed a run on a hit with two strikeouts in 2.1 innings of work.

Cervantes ate up the majority of innings, tossing 5.2 hitless frames with four strikeouts.

Levi Lewis came on to close out the contest with a one-two-three ninth inning.

Ryan Salter opened the first game with a single and scored three batters later on a Tucker Alexander single to right.

ATU, however, would answer with a run in the bottom of the first to even the game at 1-1.

The Storm would take advantage of a two-out Wonder Boy error and put up a pair of runs on RBI hits from Nick Grimmett and Salter and lead 3-1.

SE would then add a run on a Chevis Springer RBI single in the fifth that scored Evan Ramsey and Alexander would follow in the sixth with an RBI double that scored Troy McCartney to push the edge to 5-1.

In the seventh inning, the Storm got back-to-back RBI singles from Aaron Chalk and Grimmett, followed later by an RBI double by Salter to put three runs on the board in the inning and lead 8-1.

Southeastern would close out the game with a pair of runs on a Ramsey single and Salter coming home on a wild pitch to fashion the 10-1 victory.

Salter finished the game with a 4-for-6 performance that included a pair of RBI and a pair of runs scored.

Ramsey followed suit with a 3-for-4 game with an RBI, while Grimmett also turned in three hits with a pair of RBI.

In all, nine Storm batters picked up hits on the contest.

In the finale, Brandon Marris got the start, but saw his first win of the season continue to elude him after lasting just 3.2 innings despite allowing just two runs on three hits with a pair of strikeouts.

Cameron Mann instead picked up the win in relief after tossing the final 3.1 innings and allowing just a pair of hits with two K's.  He moves to 2-0 on the season.

Five Storm hitters racked up multi-hit outings, led by a 3-for-5 day from McCartney with three runs scored.

Salter, Ramsey, Alexander and Springer each posted a pair of hits, with Alexander driving in three runs, while Springer added a pair of RBI.  Caraway and Grimmett each drove in one.

SE jumped out to a 2-0 lead when Caraway drew a bases loaded walk and McCartney scored on a passed ball.

ATU, however, would get a run back in the second and another in the fourth to knot the game at 2-2.

The Storm offense answered again with three-straight singles to open the fifth, with Ramsey driving in a run, followed by a two-run double from Alexander to push the lead to 5-2.

It would reach 6-2 when Alexander later came home on a wild pitch.

The Storm was not done, however, as they turned in a repeat performance in the sixth inning.

McCartney and Ramsey opened with singles, followed by an Alexander RBI double.

ATU would load the bases intentionally, but Springer would make them pay with a two-run double and two-batters later Grimmett would push the lead to 10-2 on a sac fly that scored Caraway.

Mann squashed any thoughts of a rally by the Wonder Boys by retiring the last seven ATU hitters in order to close the game.
