DENTON, Texas – Southeastern cross country took to the course for the fourth-straight weekend and once again fared well, posting a fourth place finish at the UNT Ken Garland Invitational in Denton, Texas.

While there may have only been five teams in the event, the Savage Storm was the only Division II team in the race with a pair of Big 12 schools in Baylor and Texas Christian, the host North Texas and Southern Methodist out of the American Athletic Conference.

SE, running its largest roster of participants this season, finished with 129 points, finishing seven points ahead of TCU, with the Storm posting an average time nearly two minutes faster than the Horned Frogs.

For the fourth-consecutive week Bailee Weger led the way for Southeastern with a time of 20:43.40 to finish 33rd, slipping backwards from her record time of last week's run, but still pacing better than the first two runs of the season.

Haylee Story continued to remain close on her heels, finishing just six second back with a time of 20:49.54 to finish 34th and cross less than 10 seconds behind Weger for the second time in four races.

Another intra-squad battle has been waging between SE's third and fourth finishers as Amanda Kirby crossed in 38th place with a time of 21:01.08, while Kayle Reaves was 44th with a time of 21:47.23.  Over four races the duo have traded the team's third and fourth spots in each meet.

Tracie Lee saw her time slip slightly in her second meet of the year, finishing with a 22:13.63 in 46th place.

For the first time this season Shelby Fraser did not see her time improve in a run as she finished tied for 50th with a time of 22:37.76.

Kayla Sanders and Tabitha Oglesby each saw their first action of the season, with Sanders turning in a 24:10.76 to finish 52nd and Oglesby clocking a 24:47.37 to finish 53rd.

The Storm will take a week off before returning to competition at its fourth Division I sponsored meet of the season as it travels Natchitoches, La., for the Northwestern Louisiana Demon Invitational Oct. 12.
