Southeastern Returns Home to face OBU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern football will be looking to even its record when it hosts Ouachita Baptist on Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. at Paul Laird Field in the first game of a three-weekend home stand for the Savage Storm.
 
Saturday is Parents, Family and Friends Day on campus, while the SE coaching staff will be wearing Coach to Cure MD patches on the sidelines during the game as part of a national effort to raise money and awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
 
The Savage Storm come into the contest at 1-2 on the season both overall and in Great American Conference play after falling at No. 7 Henderson State last week on Thursday in the CBS College Sports Game of the Week.
 
The Tigers enter the weekend with a 2-0 mark overall and in league play and are coming off a 41-20 win over East Central in Arkadelphia, Ark.  OBU is also receiving votes in the latest AFCA Top-25.
 
Southeastern is eyeing the return this week of Devlon Wortham who missed last week's game due to injury but remains atop the SE rushing list with 342 yards on the year for an average of 171.0 yards per game and 13.2 yards per carry.
 
He has been working in tandem with Ronnie Green who turned in his first 100-yard rushing outing two weeks ago in a win over Arkansas-Monticello and has 265 yards on the year with three touchdowns and is averaging 6.3 ypc and 88.3 per game.
 
In all, the Storm rushing attack is averaging 259.3 yards per game and has had four different players score a rushing touchdown.
 
One of those to score on the ground is Ryan Polite who will be looking to return to the form he showed against UAM when he completed 22-of-30 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns.  For the season he has tallied 543 yards passing and is completing 61.7 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and one interception.
 
He has spread the ball around to nine different receivers with five of them catching one touchdown pass each.
 
Kaymon Farmer leads the group with 15 receptions for 118 yards, while Franky Okafor leads the team in yardage with 152 yards on 13 catches.
 
SE's defense is led by Chad Tucker who has picked up 15 stops on the season as well as an interception and a fumble recovery.
 
Kevin Jones-Dickerson, Malique Earl, Thomas Curry and Raheem Wilson have each added 12 or more tackles, while Troy Parker has an interception and Ryan Harkness added a fumble recovery.
 
OBU enters the weekend also relying heavily on its rushing attack which is led by Steven Kehner who has 266 yards over two games and six touchdowns.
 
Kiehl Frazier has added 151 yards rushing on the year, while also completing 30-of-49 passes for 374 yards and two scores.
 
His primary receiver has been Jalen Jones who has 12 catches for 119 yards and a touchdown.
