Women's Tennis Rallies for Regional Win

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Southeastern's lone senior Ilga Racika-Racko polished off a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over Nebraska-Kearney in the first round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional on Sunday in Tahlequah, Okla.
 
The win is the team's 12^th in-a-row, lifting their record to 14-3 on the season and advancing them into a Monday matchup at 11 a.m. with host Northeastern State with a berth in the NCAA National Finals on the line.
 
The Savage Storm left doubles trailing 2-1, with the number one team of Anna Buiukian and Franzi Rischtsfel picking up an 8-4 win over Camryn Parnell and Jadyn Trimble for the team's lone point ion doubles play.
 
UNK would jump to a win at three singles to open up a 3-1 lead, but Dariaja Catipovic would fly through her number two singles match with a 6-0, 6-1 win to close the gap to 3-2.
 
The Lopers would stretch the lead to 4-2 with the number four position finishing next.
 
Buiukian would cut into the deficit with a 6-1, 6-2 win at one singles to kick off the late-match rally.
 
Conchi Assiego followed suit with a 6-0, 7-5 win at number six to bring the match even at 4-4.
 
Racika-Racko opened her match with a 6-1 win over Parnell, but dropped the second set 6-2. She would respond in the third set with a 6-02 win to finish off the come-from-behind victory, 5-4.
