DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will welcome back fans and alumni for Homecoming as it prepares to host its second ranked opponent of the season when No. 14 Southern Arkansas visits Paul Laird Field at 2 p.m. on Oct. 13.

Jay Lindly heads into his third season calling the action and will be joined in the box by Ed Meacham with Rob Johnson working the sidelines.

The Savage Storm have won three-straight contests and will be facing its second nationally ranked opponent at home after falling to No. 14 Ouachita Baptist on Sept. 15 in a game SE led heading into the final quarter.

Southeastern is 4-2 on the year and currently tied for third in the Great American Conference standings and could make a big step towards postseason play with a win on Saturday over an SAU squad that comes in 6-0 and tied for the league's top spot.

Besides Homecoming, the biggest story Saturday will likely be anticipated thunderstorms which are forecasted for much of the afternoon and evening hours.

If that keeps the game on the ground the Storm already boast the GAC's number two rusher in
Kenneth Burks who is averaging 91.3 ypg on the ground but leads the conference in scoring with nine touchdowns, averaging 9.0 ppg.

Southeastern's second-ranked defense has been holding teams to 245.3 yards of total offense on the year, bolstered by the top-ranked pass defense in the conference which is holding foes to 126.3 ypg through the air.

The Muleriders come to town with the league's to offense at 434.7 ypg, and the second-best passing game at 278.3.

The Storm passing attack picked up its pace a week ago as
Rollin Kinsaul turned in a 27-of-37 performance for 324 yards and three touchdowns on his way to earning GAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

His top target coming into Saturday's matchup is
Jaylen Sims who has hauled in 38 catches this year for 554 yards and six touchdowns, while
Felton Hatcher has added 21 for 256 and a score with
Braxton Kincade a threat at 20 receptions for 213 and a TD.

The defense is paced by
Conner Swope who remains in the league's top five in tackles with 9.5 per outing, while
Zac Scott and
Troy Parker are next in line with 38 and 32 total stops, respectively.

Seu Luafatasaga and
Larry Bridges each have a pair of interceptions, while
Daquawn Brown is among the league's best in pass defense with eight breakups on the year.

Barrett Renner triggers the Mulerider offense and is completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 1,670 yards and 14 touchdowns, with his top target Karonce Higgins hauling in 38 catches for 649 yards and four scores.

Lorenzo Alexander leads the team on the ground with 385 yards and five scores, while SirCharles Perkins is a factor with 333 yards and three touchdowns.

The defense is led by Malik Preston who has 36 total tackles, while the scheme revolves around defensive linemen DaVondrick Lison and Anthony Washington who have 31 and 28 stops respectively, with Lison adding a team-high 3.5 sacks and Washington adding 3.0.
