DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will set out to extend its current four-game winning streak and avenge a one-point loss from last season when it travels to Arkadelphia, Ark., to take on Henderson State at 2 p.m. on Oct. 20.

The Savage Storm come into the weekend with a 5-2 record on the year and are coming off of arguably their best performance of the year in a 21-0 shutout victory over No. 15 Southern Arkansas.

It was the second shutout of the season and third in two years for a defense which has asserted itself at the top of the Great American Conference, ranking second in total defense, third in scoring defense, second in rushing defense and has proven to be the top-ranked pass defense in the league through seven games.

Conner Swope paces the squad in tackles with 67 on the year and is fourth in the GAC with 9.6 tackles per game, while
Zac Scott,
Seu Luafatasaga, and
Troy Parker have each logged more than 30 tackles each.

The secondary is paced by
Daquawn Brown who earned GAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for breaking up five passes in the win over SAU and he has climbed to the league's top spot in passes defended, averaging 2.17 per game. He is joined by
Larry Bridges who has recorded a pair of interceptions and is averaging 1.0 PBU per contest, while
Luke Craddock is just off that pace with 0.86 per game.

Offensively,
Kenneth Burks has scored a touchdown in six of the team's seven games this season and is tied for the conference lead in scoring with 8.6 ppg while scoring 10 touchdowns all on the ground, while also ranking in the top-five in rushing yards with 86.4 ypg.

Rollin Kinsaul has started the last two contests for the Storm at quarterback and has quickly made his mark as one of the league' most efficient passers, ranking third in the GAC in passing efficiency with a 151.2 rating while hitting 64.6 percent of his passes for 832 yards and six touchdowns.

His top target has been
Jaylen Sims who is second in the conference in receiving yards and fourth in receptions per game, having hauled in 40 catches for 600 yards and six touchdowns. He has been joined in recent weeks with big outings from
Felton Hatcher and
Braxton Kincade, with Hatcher pulling down 27 catches for 319 and a score, while Kincade has 25 catches for 289 yards and two touchdowns.

Henderson State is coming off a 31-10 victory over East Central which was its third-straight win and lifted its record to 4-3 on the season.

HSU is led on offense by quarterback Richard Stammetti who has completed 55.9 percent of his passes for 1,849 yards and 16 touchdowns, with his top targets being Ben Johnson who has 497 yards and four scores on 46 catches, as well as John Murray who has 33 receptions for 435 yards and four touchdowns.

The rushing attack is led by Logan Moragne who has 555 yards on 86 carries and is averaging 92.5 ypg.

Combined, the Reddie offense leads the league in total offense with 423.9 yards per game, boosted by second-ranked pass offense which is putting up 265.6 ypg, while also ranking fifth with its rushing game.

The HSU defense comes in ranked seventh in points allowed and ninth in yards allowed, ranking seventh in rushing yards given up and eighth in passing yards allowed.

Cameron Sonnier leads the Reddie defense with 57 total tackles, while CJ Jones is its top pass defender with six breakups on the year.
