Women's Tennis Advances to Title Match

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – After splitting doubles play, Southeastern cruised to three-straight singles victories to pick up a semifinal win over Arkansas Tech on Friday in the Great American Conference Tournament.

The win earns the Savage Storm a berth in the GAC Finals against Oklahoma Baptist at 2 p.m. in Bentonville, Ark.

Diana Budnik and India Shiaelis edged out a 9-8 win at the three doubles position.

Alexsandra Reljic and Nina Sergeev followed up with an 8-6 win at number one to open up a 2-0 lead, but a loss at two doubles would make the lead 2-1 heading to singles play.

Reljic followed up in singles play at the top position, downing ATU's Katharina Drebka 6-4, 6-3 to take a 3-1 lead.

Budnik followed suit in the number six position, picking up a 6-3, 6-1 win over Katie Harris to push the lead to 4-1.
