BENTONVILLE, Ark. – After splitting doubles play, Southeastern cruised to three-straight singles victories to pick up a semifinal win over Arkansas Tech on Friday in the Great American Conference Tournament.
The win earns the Savage Storm a berth in the GAC Finals against Oklahoma Baptist at 2 p.m. in Bentonville, Ark.
Diana Budnik and
India Shiaelis edged out a 9-8 win at the three doubles position.
Alexsandra Reljic and
Nina Sergeev followed up with an 8-6 win at number one to open up a 2-0 lead, but a loss at two doubles would make the lead 2-1 heading to singles play.
Reljic followed up in singles play at the top position, downing ATU's Katharina Drebka 6-4, 6-3 to take a 3-1 lead.
Budnik followed suit in the number six position, picking up a 6-3, 6-1 win over Katie Harris to push the lead to 4-1.
Luisa Auffarth would clinch the victory at the number two spot by picking up a 6-4, 6-4 win over Teresa Sanchez.
