DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will open conference play and home action on the same weekend when it makes its 2020 home debut with a four-game series against Southwestern Oklahoma State beginning at 1 p.m. on Feb. 21 for games one and two before ending the series on Feb. 22 with a noon doubles header at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The Savage Storm come home with an 8-4 record on the season but have won four-straight after sweeping their way through the Alvy Early Memorial Classic.

The SE offense features a pair of .400 hitters in
Tena Spoolstra and
Symphoni Shomo, with SHomo posting a team-leading 19 hits while stealing 15 bases.

Four others are hitting over .300 on the season, with that group led by
Kady Fryrear who is carrying a .375 average with two doubles, two homers and a team-best 11 RBI.

Kyia Monahwee is also in that group with a .316 average and is right behind Fryurear with 10 RBI on the year.

Katie McCullar leads the pitching staff with a 5-1 record with a save and a 0.83 ERA in 33.2 innings pitched.

SWOSU enters the weekend with a record of 1-7 after defeating Regis 10-4 to finish 1-3 at the Midwestern State Invitational last weekend in Wichita Falls, Texas.

The Bulldogs are hitting .314 as a team with five home runs and 41 runs scored while the pitching staff has a team ERA of 8.58 and they've allowed 68 runs in 45.2 innings of action.

Amanda Moreno leads the Bulldogs with 13 hits and 12 RBI and she's tied for the team lead with two home runs. Hannah Franklin and Breanna Simmons are two of SWOSU's other top offensive threats as Franklin has matched Moreno with two home runs and she's second on the team with nine RBI while Simmons has nine hits in 17 at-bats, good for a team-leading .529 batting average.
