Skye Summers fourth-place finish paced Southeastern cross country as it opened its abbreviated spring season on Friday with a second-place finish at the Golden Suns invitational in Russellville, Ark.

Three teams ran in the meet, all Great American Conference rivals, with SE's 51 points taking home second, ahead of Henderson State in third and behind host Arkansas Tech.

The teams ran a 2-mile race in high winds and freezing conditions, with Summers time of 12:17 pacing the Savage Storm and finishing 20 seconds off the winning time.

Megan Rose was the next SE finisher with a mark of 13:06 in ninth-place, while newcomer
Gabriela Luna finished 11
th with a time of 13:22.

Lindsay Klasek led a trio of Storm runners who blocked the 13-15
th positions, turning in a run of 13:30 to lead the trio with
Alexis Longoria's 13:33 finishing 14th and
Rachel Wynn's time of 13:47 good for 15
th.

Bailey Pritchett crossed in 17
th with a time of 13:59, with
Madelynn Coffey checking in 19
th with a run of 14:13.

Vantashia Bond checked in next with a 14:17 to finish 21
st, followed by
Amanda Rodriguez in 25
th with a time of 14:33, while
Zaycia Guthrie rounded out the Storm runners in 27
th, clocking a time of 15:17.
