DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will return to the diamond after a 19-day layoff to open Great American Conference play when it hosts Harding in a three-game series with a double-header slated for noon on Feb. 26 before playing the final game on Saturday afternoon at noon as well at Mike Metheny Field.

The general public will not be permitted at this time and anyone admitted to the contests will have to be one of the four guests allowed for participating student-athletes and non-student coaching staff may invite up to four guests to attend home contests.

Guests on the pass list will be required to show an ID as well as wear a mask and practice social distancing while in attendance.
Â
All seating will be arranged to adhere to current local and state social distance protocols. No tickets will be available to visiting teams.

The 3-0 Savage Storm opened the season on Feb 5 with a win over East Central and added a double-header sweep of the Tigers two days later, but due to the winter storms that rolled through the central region have not been back on the field competitively since that Feb. 7 twinbill.

SE's starting pitching was lights out in its opening series, with
Jacob Potter going to win GAC Pitcher of the Week honors after tossing 6.0 innings in a start and striking out 12 while scattering three hits and allowing no runs.

Mason Whitmarsh tossed 4.0 innings in his start without allowing a hit and striking out five, while
Tyler Dean was the only starter to allow a run, giving up one on one hit in 4.0 innings of work.

SE finished the weekend with a 3.91 team ERA, with Whitmarsh, as well as relievers
Jacob Bigham and
Coby Langford picking up wins.

At the plate, three hitter cracked the .400 mark, led by
Seth Morrow's .667 weekend with a pair of hits, one a homer, in three at bats with two RBI and three walks.

Dylan Herd posted a .556 series with five hits, two doubles, and two RBI, while
Rylee Holmes had four hits and a team-high three RBI.

SE outhit ECU in the opening series 22-to-9, including a 7-to-3 edge in extra-base hits.

Harding comes into the weekend having just played its first game of the season on Feb. 24, earning a 13-6 win over Williams Baptist.

David Butterfield and Brendan Perrett led the Bisons in that outing with three hits apiece, while Perrett drove in four RBI.

Ross Shirey got the start for HU, but left after 1.2 innings of work which allowed Brent Southerland to collect the victory as six pitchers combined to allow six runs on four hits with nine strikeouts across from eight walks.
