Baseball Opens Road Series Sunday at NWOSU

DURANT, Okla. – With rain in the forecast for the weekend, Southeastern will have to wait a couple extra days before opening its weekend series at Northwestern Oklahoma State which is now scheduled for March 14-15 in Alva, Okla.
 
The opener is set for a Sunday night primetime game at 6 p.m., while Monday's doubleheader is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
 
The Savage Storm come into the event with a 6-4 record on the season and a 3-3 mark in Great American Conference play.
 
The Storm are led offensively by Seth Morrow how is hitting .567 on the season and leads the conference in RBI with 16.
 
Colton Buckner and Matt Miles each have four homers to lead the team, while Buckner is next in line in RBI with 14.
 
Miles is hitting better than .400 on the year, while Buckner and Dylan Herd are each batting over .300.
 
The Storm starters on the mound have posted a 4-2 record combined to start the season through nine total starts, with Mason Whitmarsh posting a 2-1 record to lead the group.
 
Jacob Potter paces the trio in ERA with a 2.84 mark and leads the club in strikeouts with 19.
 
Jacob Bigham and Logan Teske have each recorded saves, while Bigham boasts a 0.82 ERA with a win and 10 K's over five appearances with 11.0 total innings pitched.
 
The Rangers enter the weekend with a 4-5 record on the season and a 3-3 mark in GAC play, opening the year taking two-of-three from Arkansas-Monticello before dropping two-of-three at East Central.
 
Marques Paige leads the way offensively for NWOSU with a .419 average, while two others boast .400-or-better marks.
 
Paige's three homers and 11 RBI pace the club in those areas as well, with Daschal Johnson adding 11 RBI as well.
 
Thomas Austin leads the team's starters with a 1-1 record and a 3.29 ERA, while Scott Creeden has a pair of wins in two appearances, Blake Hoffman leads the way with 14 strikeouts, and Kaleb Honea has recorded two saves in four appearances.
