Box Score 1 ARLINGTON, Texas – Southeastern women's tennis found the going a little rough on Wednesday in a pair of matches, opening the day with a 7-0 loss at Division I Texas-Arlington before falling to Texas-Tyler, 4-3, in its second match of the day.

The losses dip the Savage Storm to 4-5 overall on the year heading into back-to-back home matches on March 12 and 13, first hosting Missouri Western State at noon on Friday before welcoming Cameron for Alumni, Faculty, and Staff Day at Noon on Saturday.

Both matches are at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

Match two was a nail-biter as the Storm picked up the doubles point to take an early lead.

The duo of
Zulay Castaneda and
Vanessa Cozamanis picked up a 7-6 win at one doubles, while
Vanessa Nitu and
Elizaveta Tregubova added a 6-4 win at three doubles for the point.

Castaneda followed suit with a 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 win at number one to put the Storm up 2-0.

However, UTT would pick up wins at numbers two, three and four to take a 3-2 lead.

Shiaelis would pick up a 6-3, 6-2 win at number five to even the match, but the Patriots would pick up number six singles to take the match 4-3.

Against UTA, the Storm fell behind with a loss in the doubles point and was never able to recover.

India Shiaelis came closest to putting the SE on the board, pushing her opponent at number five to a third set, but ultimately fell 6-4, 2-6, 4-10.
