Potter Adds Central Region Weekly Honor

DURANT, Okla. – Following his Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week award, Jacob Potter has added an NBCWA Central Region Pitcher of the Week honor to his resume.
 
The award is handed out by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and is chosen among the player of the week honorees among all three conferences in the Central Region.
 
He takes home the honor after helping the Savage Storm to a series win over Northwestern Oklahoma State on the road in Alva, Okla.
 
His GAC weekly award was his second on the year.
 
Potter, a junior from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, did his part in an impressive complete-game shutout win in the series opener, 2-0.
 
He tossed 9.0 innings and scattered six hits while striking out 11 against no walks to earn the win.
 
It is his second outing this season with double-digit strikeouts, finishing one shy of his season-high of 12 he had in his first outing of the season.
 
Potter and the Storm will be back in action March 19-20 when SE travels to Monticello, Ark., to take on Arkansas-Monticello in a three-game series.
