Storm Host SAU in Key GAC Matchup

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern is set to return to Great American Conference play when it hosts Southern Arkansas for a three-game series at Mike Metheny Field with game one slated for 2 p.m. n March 26, followed by a March 27 twinbill at 1 p.m.
 
The Savage Storm enter the weekend with an 11-5 record on the year following a 2-1 win over Northeastern State on Tuesday, while carrying a 7-5 mark in GAC play after a series victory over Arkansas-Monticello last weekend.
 
SE has been led offensively on the year by Seth Morrow who has put together a .526 average with seven doubles, a triple, and six homers while driving in 25 RBI/
 
He is followed by a trio of .300 hitters, with Colton Buckner leading that group at .364 with three doubles, a triple, and five home runs to go with 17 RBI.
 
Matt Miles and Dylan Herd are hitting .309 and .302, respectively, with Miles connecting on four homers and 10 RBI.
 
Slayde Ortiz and Reid Rice have each cracked the double-digit RBI mark with 13 and 12, respectively.
 
Jacob Potter Leads the Storm starters on the hill with a 2.57 ERA while holding a 2-1 record with 32 strikeouts while opponents are hitting .230 against him.
 
Mason Whitmarsh is not far behind with a 3.38 ERA while leading the team with three wins. He has struck out 21 and holds opposing hitters to a .256 average.
 
The Muleriders come into the weekend with a 12-5 overall record and an 8-04 mark in league play following a home sweep of East Central.
 
The Mulerider offense is paced by Kobe Morris and Austin Baker who are each hitting .365, while Morris has added three homers and a team-best 16 RBI.
 
Brett McGee leads the team in home runs with six.
 
Zac Smith leads the pitching staff with a 2-1 record and a 2.94 ERA over five starts with 24 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .234 average.
