DURANT, Okla. – Following his big-hitting performance in the opening weekend of the season, Southeastern's
Cameron French has been named the Great American Conference Player of the Week after helping the Savage Storm to a 4-0 start to the 2022 season.

French, a sophomore DH from Schoolcraft, Mich., crushed the East Central pitching over the weekend and carried that momentum into a Tuesday win over Northeastern State.

Over the first four games of the season he hit .727 with a double, a triple, two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored. He slugged 1.545 and carried a .750 on-base percentage.

He opened the season 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in the first win over the rival Tigers and finished that day with a 2-for-2 effort with two runs scored.

French finished his opening week with another 3-for-4 effort versus NSU with a double and three RBI.
