SE Welcomes OBU For Three-Game Series

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will continue to jockey for position in the Great American Conference standings when it welcomes Oklahoma Baptist for a three-game series at Mike Metheny field, with the opener set for 2 p.m. on April 1 followed by a 1 p.m. doubleheader on April 2.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with s 22-9 record overall and an 11-7 mark in GAC play, and despite its losses at Southern Arkansas, SE holds onto fourth place in the league standings, just one game out of second place, with eight teams total within three games of each other between second and ninth place.
 
One of those teams is OBU who enters the weekend with a 15-13 record overall and a 10-8 record in league play and have won four-straight.
 
SE is coming off its fourth-straight midweek victory, but will be looking to bounce back from a 1-5 mark in its last six conference contests.
 
The Storm offense features five hitters with averages better then .300, led by Blake McQuain who is batting .421 on the season with a .494 on base percentage in the leadoff spot.
 
Cameron French, Reid Rice, Seth Morrow, and Angel Ochoa each have averages north of .300 as well.
 
Rice leads the nation in home runs with 16 and has driven in a team-high 41 RBI, while French, Morrow, and Richard Ware have 20-plus RBI each on the season.
 
The SE pitching staff is led by Dylan Turner's 3.34 ERA among starters with a 3-2 record and 29 strikeouts, while Logan Teske and Connor Priest each have four wins on the season.
 
Cole Canuteson also has three wins and has started five of the eight games he's appeared in while carrying a 4.60 ERA while posting a team-high 35 strikeouts.
 
SE features seven pitchers with 20-or-more strikeouts, while Jackson Sioson leads the team in saves with seven.
 
OBU is led on offense by Kade Self's .468 average, while Dan Pruitt leads the team in home runs with 13, while Alex Schroeder has a team-best 38 RBI.
 
Will Duncan's 1.64 ERA leads the team's starters, while Brek Galbreath has a team-best four wins.
 
Bo Dallas leads the way in strikeouts with 48, while Garrett Kellogg-Clarke has e team-best two saves.
