RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern had all five of its scoring runners finish within one minute of one another as the Savage Storm beat its preseason expectations on its way to a sixth-place finish at the 2023 Great American Conference Championships on Saturday morning.

The Savage Storm entered the season picked eighth in the preseason poll, but scored 196 points in its Saturday 5K, beating Southern Arkansas by 29 points.

SE was behind Harding in fifth, with East Central winning the women's championship, followed by Ouachita Baptist, Arkansas Tech, and Oklahoma Baptist.

Southern Nazarene crossed in eighth, followed by Northwestern Oklahoma State, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Henderson State, and Arkansas-Monticello rounding out the league.

Madison Rowe led the Storm with a run of 19:42.3 to finish 47
th, with
Alexis Longoria just seven seconds behind in 50
th with a time of 19:49.3.
