STILLWATER, Okla. – Southeastern's men's team posted a fifth-place finish while the women turned in a seventh-place effort at the Oklahoma State Rodeo over the weekend in Stillwater, Okla.

Rowdy Nimrod and
Levi James paced the Storm men's team which featured five competitors who advanced to the finals.

Nimrod turned in an 8.8 in the first round of the tie down roping and followed with a 9.8 which split 3
rd/4
th in the short-go and moved him to first in the average. The finish helped move him to fifth-place regionally in the tie down while Jarvis Demerey is right behind him in sixth.

James would pair with Murray State's Garrett Hughes in the team roping, earning a berth in the finals by placing 12
th in the long-go with a 9.2. The duo would come back with a 6.8 in the finals to win the round and move all the way to the top spot in the average for the weekend.

On the women's side,
Grace Collins led a trio of finals qualifiers in the goat tying, turning in a 7.5 in the long-go to match teammate
Kayleah Hurst and advance splitting 12
th/13
th. Collins would come back with a 7.4 in the finals to split the top spot in the round and lift her to 3
rd/4
th/5
th in the average.

Hurst would follow with a 13.0 in the finals to finish 10
th for the weekend, while
Jessie Ishmael reached the finals with a 6.6 which was good for second in the qualifying, but a no time would take her out of the average.

Ishmael is currently ranked fourth in the region in goat tying, with Hurst in seventh and Collins in 10
th.

Back in the steer wrestling,
Traden Anderson would open with a 5.0 which was good for seventh in the first round and followed it with a 4.4 in the short-go which was good for fourth in the round and fourth in the average. His finish moves him to 13
th in the region, while Nimrod is ranked ninth in the event.

Montana Duval was the men's last finals qualifier, posting a 69 in the bareback riding in his first competition of the semester after being out due to injury. He followed with a 77 in the short-go which was good for second in the round and moved to third in the average.

In the barrel racing,
Casey Mathis posted a 16.17, matching the opening round run by
Kayla Earnhardt as the duo split eighth place to reach the finals, while
Mollie Bassett turned in a 16.11 in the first round to finish seventh.

Mathis would come back with a 16.11 in the finals to finish seventh in the round and seventh in the average, while five-second penalties by Earnhardt and Bassett would take them both out of the average.

The finish would move Mathis to fifth place regionally, while
Avery Moyer is 11
th regionally and
Jaiden Wilmoth is ranked 12
th.

In the breakaway,
Laney Hoffman would take first in the qualifying round with a run of 2.1, while
Katlyn Hooper reached the finals after splitting 10
th-12
th with a time of 2.4.

Unfortunately, Hoffman would take a no time in the finals and Hooper would land an illegal catch, taking both out of the average.

Bailey Lester is currently ranked eighth regionally in the event, while Hoffman is 10
th and Hooper is in 14
th.

SE did not send anyone to the finals in the saddle bronc or the bull riding, but does feature a pair of regionally ranked riders, with
Caleb Meeks holding third place in the Central Plains in the saddle bronc, while
Caden Bunch is in sixth regionally in the bull riding.

Following the third event of the season, the Storm men have moved to second place regionally as a team, while the women are ranked fourth.
