SE Hosts Rival Tigers in Season Finale

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern is set to close out the 2023 season when it welcomes East Central for the 106th time in the Great American Classic at Paul Laird Field on Nov. 11 at 2 p.m.
 
The Savage Storm enter the rivalry contest with a 4-6 record on the season following a loss last week in a defensive standoff with Arkansas Tech.
 
SE leads the all-time series with East Central by a 50-49-6 mark, and the 105 meeting makes the series the second longest gridiron series in the state behind Bedlam, the most-played series in the Great American Conference, one of the five-longest series in all of Division II.
 
DJ Brown paces the Storm rushing attack with 557 yards and four touchdowns, while Ryn Hirt has the team lead in rushing scores with five.
 
The Storm has had a trio of starters at quarterback this season, with the group completing 53.6 percent of its passes for 1,995 yards and 13 touchdowns.
 
SE has a trio of pass catchers who have over 400 yards receiving, led by Hunter Hawthorne who has 36 catches for 469 yards and one score, while Kaleb Whitley is next in line with 33 receptions and 436 yards and a TD.
 
Marquis Gray rounds out the trio with 28 catches and 432 yards with a team-high five touchdowns.
 
Cameron Tate paces the defense with 64 tackles, while Michael Hookfin is next in line with 61 stops.
 
Braeden Winters leads the team with nine tackles for loss, while Kevin Simes has tallied eight sacks to lead the way.
 
Joseph Jones paces the secondary with a trio of interceptions.
 
ECU comes into the weekend with a 3-7 record on the season off a lopsided loss to nationally-ranked Harding last week.
 
Miles Davis paces the Tiger rushing attack with 414 yards and three touchdowns.
 
Jaiave Magalei leads the ECU passing game, completing 51.8 percent of his passes for 997 yards and nine touchdowns.
 
Dior Scott has been the top target on the season with 490 yards on 40 grabs with three touchdowns, while CJ Moore has a team-best five touchdowns with 470 yards on 31 receptions.
 
Devon Roush paces the ECU defense with 80 tackles on the season, while adding a pair of sacks.
