Brennen Burns has picked up Great America Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors following his efforts in leading the Savage Storm to a pair of wins to end the regular season over the weekend.

Burns, a sophomore from Bethany, Okla., averaged 21.0 ppg over two contests while shooting 58.3 percent overall from the field and adding an 867 percent effort at the free throw line.

In addition, he dished out a team-best 6.5 assists per game over that span and pulled down 4.0 rebounds per game.

Burns would put together 16 points and nine assist in a 90-82 win in the home finale victory over Oklahoma Baptist.

He would then follow up with an even more impressive effort in the regular season finale, dropping a team-high 26 points, including a fadeaway, baseline jumper with three-tenths of a second to play to lift the Storm to a 95-93 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State.

SE will now head to Shawnee, Okla., as the No. 3 seed for the Great American Conference Tournament and will take on sixth-seeded Henderson State in the quarterfinals at 8 p.m. on March 3 at FireLake Arena.
