Nitu, Gonzalez Lead Women's Tennis Honors

DURANT, Okla. – Vanessa Nitu and Sara Gonzalez led the charge as four Southeastern women's tennis players picked up All-Great American Conference honors on Thursday afternoon.
 
The Savage Storm enter the conference tournament with a 6-12 record on the season and a 3-2 mark in league play which earned them the number three seed in this weekend's tournament.
 
Nitu, a junior from Bucharest, Romania, and Gonzalez, a sophomore from Guatemala City, Guatemala, were each named first team All-GAC selections, with Nitu picking up a unanimous selection.
 
Georgia Hosking, a junior from Johannesburg, South Africa, was a second team All-GAC honoree.
 
Michelle Markovic, a junior from Venice, Italy, picked up an academic honor for the Storm as she was named a Distinguished Scholar Athlete.
 
SE opens GAC Tournament play on April 21 when it takes on Ouachita Baptist at 2 p.m. in Bentonville, Ark.
