DURANT, Okla. – The Southeastern women's tennis program heads to Edmond, Okla., over the next three days to play in the ITA Regionals, hosted by Central Oklahoma.
The Savage Storm will have three representatives in the singles draw, led by
Amishi Shukla,
Kseniya Zhdanok and
Emilia O'Neill. The new doubles partnership of Shukla and O'Neill will be the only duo taking part in the doubles round for the blue and gold.
In Singles Flight A, Zhdanok and O'Neill get the day going at 8 a.m., as Zhdanok takes on Central Oklahoma's Ayaka Koga, while O'Neill faces Majra Djokic from Northwest Missouri State. Shortly after, Shulka will take the court at 9:30 a.m. to battle Augustana's Maria Fiacan.
In doubles play, O'Neill and Shukla will play Smite Bakyte and Simon-Maria Karaouza from Augustana in first round of Flight A action at 5:15 p.m.
Early this fall, Southeastern went to the Rumble by the River, hosted by Northeastern State, and picked up ten singles wins and five doubles victories. Both Shukla and O'Neill went 2-1 in singles play, and were undefeated in doubles action, going 3-0 as a partnership, while Zhdanok was a perfect 3-0 during singles play.
