DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern returns to the friendly confines of Paul Laird Field for the first time in 2023 as it welcomes Henderson State for a 6 p.m. matchup on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Southeastern fans can listen live via the Southeastern Sports Network on GoSoutheastern.com/SESportsNet or across the largest DII radio network in the area with Jay Lindly and Rob Johnson on the call. Local fans can pick up the game on 96.1 FM, while fans across southeastern Oklahoma and north Texas can pick up the games on 94.7 FM in Valliant, Okla., 97.7 in Ardmore, Okla., 99.5 in Rattan, Okla., 102.1 in Atoka, Okla., and 107.5 in Atoka.

As an added opportunity to interact with Savage Storm football on gameday, Southeastern fans who want to start their gameday off with breakfast on Saturday can take advantage of "Breakfast with the Storm" on Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. till 10 a.m. in the Glen D. Johnson Student Union Cafeteria. This event is open to the public. Cost for breakfast is $8.95 plus tax and can be paid with cash or credit/debit cards.

The event will offer SE football supporters and fans the opportunity to meet Savage Storm players and coaches while taking advantage of a tasty breakfast.

Southeastern enters the weekend at 0-1 on the year after falling to Southern Arkansas in the season opener.

Marquis Gray led the offense as he picked up in 2023 where he left off a season ago, racking up 121 yards and a touchdown through the air, scoring on a 62-yard toss, on four catches, while
Gyasi Smith added a receiving score as well.

Bryce Fields threw for 211 yards in his debut with a pair of touchdowns in the passing game while adding 28 yards rushing.

Defensively,
Donoven McKnight and
Tyveon Williams each posted a team-best eight tackles in the opener, while
Kevin Simes, Josh Horlick, and
Jaiveon Gardner added a sack apiece.

Henderson State comes to town with a 1-0 record after downing East Central 41-13 to open the season.

The Reddies offense is led by Andrew Edwards who completed 17-of-25 passes for 276 yards and four touchdowns in game one, while adding 31 yards on the ground.

Timieone Jackson was his top target with seven catches for 84 yards, while Chris Hatzis pulled in five receptions for 79 yards with two touchdowns.

Zach Dixon and Fred Lewis led the defense with five tackles each, with Trenton Moore recording 1.5 sacks.
