ANDOVER, Kan. – Southeastern Oklahoma State shot 60-over 344 in the second round and finished the Newman Invitational 107-over 675 to claim sixth place.
Northeastern State jumped Northwestern Oklahoma State on the final day to take first place with a combined score of 64-over 632, while NWOSU would finish second at 75-over 643. Newman just edged out SE for fifth by one stroke at 106-over 674, while Dodge City CC (+95) and Fort Hays State (+100) took third and fourth, respectively.
Carley Button saw the best individual finish by an SE player this season, finishing tied for 9th at 20-over 162 after shooting 19-over 90 in the second round. Joining Button in the Top 15,
Lucy Handley turned in a 22-over 164 across the two rounds for her best individual placement this year, finishing tied for 14
th after seeing a 12-over 83 in round two.
Karen Kim saw her best round of the tournament on day two, shooting 12-over 83 to secure a Top 20 finish with a score of 27-over 169 and tied for 20
th individually on the player leaderboard.

Hope Walthall (34
th) finished within one stroke of each other at 42-over 184 and 43-over 185, respectively. Richard concluded the final day with a 21-over 92 round two, while Walthall turned in a 17-over 88.
Southeastern will head to the Tulsa Cup next for its final tournament of the fall portion of its season on Oct. 28-29 at the Forest Ridge Country Club in Broken Bow, Okla.
